What bugs me today

1. People who use spatial words to describe events in time. For example, "The meeting has been changed. The date has been moved up and not back." What's that supposed to mean? Is the meeting sooner or later? Why can't they SAY "sooner" or "later"? 2. People who use vertical coordinates to give horizontal directions. Unless you're driving in San Francisco or flying a helicopter, "up" and "down" are meaningless in most places. Say "left" or "right" for Pete's sake.
